5 Stars for the customer service. I came in with my cousin... He was going through a tough time in his life. I really wanted to cheer him up. It's not easy since I work all the time but I try to make a point to look out for him love my own little brother. So, I just knew I head to bring him to Tony's!
Tony's was recommended by a colleague of mine after I mentioned I was heading to grab some pizza at a spot in DTLA. She raved and raved about Tony's and so I just had to try.
Now, because I was trying to cheer my little bro up, I wanted to take him to a joint I knew c was awesome and that I loved... A place that is not your everyday grubbin' pizza joint. I wanted to get is mind off of the troubles he was experiencing. Although the DTLA place was rather pricey, it was fine because I knew it would blow my cousin away. After all the ranting and raving from my colleague, I just had to try Tony's. I figured that if it wasn't good, we could just hop in the car and head downtown.
Needless to say... Tony's delivered much more than I ever expected! Quality of the pizza, the crust, ingredients and sauce and everything are all top-notch! The customer service is beyond compare! Although it was our first time there, it felt we grew up with the people running the place that night. Everybody was real cool and down to earth, jovial, friendly and helpful. Especially that cute short girl who works the register. She was super cool. tThe gentleman calling shots as well. I'm not sure who that was. Is he the owner he gave us amazing recommendations!
Again, I have nothing bad to say about anybody over there everything was great! Not to mention the very best part of it all was my little cousin smiled! Laughed! And it just seems like he was able to get unplugged out of all the issues he's been facing at that time and just have a good time. That was what it was really all about antonis even delivered that!
Again, I don't know why I've not been here before because this place takes so long but now that I have, we heading back time and time again... No doubt! Bet on It! -

This has been a long time coming, I used to frequent this seemingly little hole in the wall... high school & otherwise, I would start my evening off like this. Pizza and a coke or spaghetti & meatballs and a coke..... even the occasional lasagna and........you guessed it......a coke
Lol
No seriously.....they make killer garlic bread.
Oh......and killer coke! .. .lol
Try this.....my little gem that I grew up honing my taste buds.
Then after the nourishment I'd meet whomever & experience the evenings festivities....
Or if I were house sitting I would make a phone order and swing by & pick it up ....(mind you, this was before GRUBHUB or DOORDASH....or even the seldom used UBER EATS... )
Often times, I would enjoy taking step back in time & pick it up myself. Bringing memories of those days long passed of classes and period bells, Friday nights and school activities..... after the big game or after the big swim match.
My favorite pizza place Time Machine! -

Truly the neighborhood pizza spot, Tony's has been operating for decades at its easy to find location right off busy Huntington Drive.
The interior's vibe has changed since you used to be able to get a Student Special here after school. It no longer has the feel of an student hangout/pizza parlor where you'd find two dozen teenagers playing arcade games like Frogger or X-Men versus Street Fighter. Now it feels more like a mom and pop pizzeria. Wholesome family styles. Photos on the wall. No arcade games.
The pizza too has changed. It used to be even more New York style with an inch width of crust along the circumference. Used to be more cheesy. Now it's more thin crust as the crust is a quarter of an inch wide, and the pizza visually resembles something from the frozen section of the supermarket. Funny how I used to come here for the pizza and the arcade games. But now it's more about supporting a local small business.
I also had the Salami Sandwich served hot. Was just alright. There's plastic booth seating inside only and an adjoining parking lot. Tony's is solid for pizza relative to what you can get in the area. But its real appeal is nostalgia. It's also a fitting spot to catch up and reminisce with a buddy. Will be back, sooner than later I hope. -

Tony's pizza is hands down some of the best pizza I have had in the Pasadena area. It is always fresh, piping hot and toppings are abundant.
Pros: The pizza is loaded with toppings. On that note, if you like toppings then I highly recommend getting Tony's Special (Tony's Pizza's version of an everything pizza). The tomato sauce is the perfect amount of spiciness and sweetness. They put just enough cheese on the pizza to make it cheesy but not so much that you gag on rubbery cheese. They have plenty of parking in the back. They also have a couple of tasty salads in the fridge to make you feel a little less guilty about devouring several pieces of pizza.
Cons: They do not have any peperoncino's which is one of my favorite things to snack on while eating pizza.
Tips: Ask for anchovies on the Tony's special pizza! I also recommend asking them to crisp the pizza a little extra... So delicious! If you like parmesan cheese be sure to ask for it as they keep it in the fridge to keep it from spoiling. -

As an out-of-towner, I was excited to try this alleged good pizza place in san marino and Im happy I did.
I really liked the "Tony's Special Sandwich". It tasted like a Italian salad tucked between two big and soft rolls. It also had lots of salami and ham. It was really big though so I recommend sharing jt with someone.
As for the pizza, Im new to "pizza by the slice" style pizza but I really enjoyed the margherita pizza because it was surprisingly flavorful with tomatoes and mozerella.
The service was also excellent. They gave us free drinks. I would definitely check this place out if you are near the area and want a pizza by the slice or want a giant italian sub sandwich that will leave you satisfied!
